2017 Chrysler Pacifica is Named 'Utility Vehicle of the Year' at the North American Car of the Year Awards

The original creators of the minivan—FIAT-Chrysler America has achieved another milestone in its quest to perfect the minivan: the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica was named winner of the 2017 North American Car of the Year Awards “Utility Vehicle of the Year” award. This award is considered especially prestigious due to its wide mix of automotive journalists covering both the U.S.A and Canada. These are the folks who make up the deciding jury, so their ratings come from folks who really know what they’re talking about.

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is impressive for a variety of reasons, not the least of which being its innovative powertrain offering; you have your traditional gasoline engine, but also a hybrid powertrain to choose from, which makes the Pacifica the only minivan to offer an alternative powertrain. This ideal family van is also the most awarded minivan of 2016—here’s to hoping 2017 shows no signs of slowing down.

“When we first introduced the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica just one year ago, we believed that we had created the perfect formula for today’s busy families,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands, Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and Fiat, FCA - North America. "But it’s the recognition from our customers and respected opinion leaders like the NACTOY jury that helps to reinforce Pacifica’s status in the marketplace as the no-compromises minivan, and highlights what a great job the entire team has done in developing, building and selling the all-new Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid.”—from a 01.09.17 FIAT-Chrysler Press Release
