Uconnect® Infotainment Center: Features, Connectivity, and How It Works
In-vehicle infotainment has evolved a long way past analog dials and a radio. Today’s vehicles offer impressive lists of features that require a more sophisticated means of controlling them. An outstanding example of how to do infotainment operating systems the right way is the Uconnect® system found in all new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles. Here’s a look at what makes Uconnect® such a great system.
What is Uconnect®?
Infotrainment operating systems haven’t been a strong suit for very many automakers, which is why so many of them are now turning to Google built-in setups. But Stellantis brands have long been an exception to this rule, thanks to the Uconnect® operating system. Uconnect® handles things like navigation, climate control, and the stereo system. It has all of the ease of use, responsiveness, and high-quality graphics of the Google-based systems, but is more tailored to your specific vehicle, as it is actually made by the manufacturer. That said, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are both compatible with the current version of Uconnect®, unlike systems from some other manufacturers that lock these features out. The packages available for Uconnect® do a good job of explaining what kind of features you can use this system for, including several that might not have occurred to you. There is some overlap in the packages, since Stellantis doesn’t want to force you to pay for options you don’t want. Here is what they offer:

Additional Features
4G LTE WI-FI® Hotspot
Use the built-in 4G LTE connection to activate a hotspot for up to eight devices in or near your vehicle.
Off-Road Pages+
For off-road enthusiasts, the Off-Road Pages+ feature allows you to use Adventure Guides and GPS Trail Logs right from your Uconnect® system. You can even download guides for offline use, with full GPS functionality.
Adventure Guides includes 2 years of detailed guides for 200+ trails, including all Jeep® Badge of Honor trails.
Activating Uconnect® Connected Services
The easiest way to activate your Uconnect® connected services is to have us set it up for you when you purchase your vehicle. This is both convenient and it allows you to start using features as soon as you get your keys. But if you didn’t get your vehicle from us, or it wasn’t activated for some other reason, there are a couple of other options. The first option is built into the Uconnect® system itself, and you can initiate the activation process by pressing the Assistance buttons. Alternatively, you can go the Mopar website and activate it from there. This is a good site to bookmark either way, as everything related to your account can be found there.
