What the Critics Say
“Surely the purists won’t complain about the Charger’s high-class interior, maybe the best we’ve seen from a Dodge in … well, come to think of it, ever. We love the way the ambient lighting reflects into the gray carbon-fiber-pattern trim that surrounds the dashboard, enhancing the floating-dash effect. The screens are laid out sensibly and within easy reach, the transmission shifter is a neat new interpretation of the classic Mopar pistol grip, and the squared-off steering wheel is a nifty callback to the “squircles” Chrysler used in the 1960s.” – MotorTrend
“On the twisties, the Dodge feels lighter and smaller than it is. I felt the shift of the car’s mass when I was threading between cones during my drifting lesson, but the raw power camouflages that weight in the corners. The contact patch on the Goodyear Eagle Sport All-Season tires on my test car flattened out nicely to support the car as it poured its bulk from one side to the other.” – The Drive
What’s New For 2026
A handful of minor adjustments have been made to the thrilling Dodge Charger model range for the 2026 model year. Last year’s entry-level R/T has been discontinued for 2026. Additionally, gas-powered variants and four-door sedan models are now available nationwide. Finally, select features and their availability have shuffled between certain trim levels for enhanced value across the Charger model range.
Dodge Charger Features
Next-Generation Performance
From the track to the turnpike, the legendary Dodge Charger remains a force to be reckoned with thanks to its impressive powertrain lineup. Charger models feature a revolutionary 400V Propulsion System with dual 250-kW Electric Drive Modules (EDM) and standard all-wheel drive for maximum control. Total system output ranges between 420 horsepower for base trims up to 670 horsepower for Scat Pack variants. Naturally, a purpose-built 3.0L Twin Turbo SIXPACK High-Output (HO) engine and 8-speed automatic transmission is available for those who prefer the rumble and roar of a conventional gas-powered powertrain. This means that the Charger is capable of hitting 60 MPH from a standstill in just 3.3 seconds while completing the quarter-mile in an impressive 11.5 seconds (estimated). Other standout performance features include the world’s first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust that delivers an audible and tangible rumble, unlike any other vehicle on the road. A clever R-Wing front aero passthrough helps move air through the front fascia and reduces front lift by up to 30% and drag by up to 3% as it slices through the air.
Driver-Focused Interior
Another essential component of any true muscle car is a premium interior with controls centered around every action of the driver. The Dodge Charger boasts exactly that along with best-in-class cargo space. In terms of upholstery choices, you can opt for the standard cloth/leatherette seating surfaces or upgrade to premium options including heated Black Nappa leather and Demonic Red Nappa leather seats. Standard Attitude Adjustment ambient interior lighting featuring 64 individual colors adds a tasteful accent to the bold color scheme of the cabin. A premium 18-speaker, 914-watt Alpine system with subwoofer is optional for all trims as well. Sport-focused and technologically oriented in feel, the premium steering wheel of the Charger features a heated flat top/flat bottom design, paddle shifters to manage regenerative braking, and a PowerShot button. A signature "pistol-grip" shifter and the start/power button are packaged close together on the center console, a nod to classic Dodge models of decades past.
Innovative Technology
Packed with forward-thinking tech that will dial up the excitement even further, the Dodge Charger proves that it has the brains to back up its brawn. Instrument cluster options include a standard 10.25-inch unit along with an optional 16-inch upgrade, both featuring classic, focused, and navigation-based layouts and customizable cluster content. Located in the center of the dash is its 12.3-inch standard central touchscreen with the proven Uconnect 5 infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and Dodge Connected Services. Charger variants also include a cutting-edge Navigator Charging Location feature that provides enhanced route guidance and charging solutions. Drivers can also access Performance Pages to monitor key vehicle performance metrics directly via the Uconnect 5 system.
