Ram Commercial Truck and Van Lineup
Ram 1500
Iconic. Powerful. Versatile. Any adjectives you wish to apply to the Ram 1500 barely seem sufficient, considering that it functions both as an elite consumer-facing vehicle and a go-to work truck for millions on the job. It’s the segment leader among light-duty trucks, thanks to the endorsements of contractors, real estate and property managers, landscapers, and salespeople. Depending on its configuration, it can carry a payload of up to 2,340 pounds while towing well north of 11,000 pounds, thanks largely to a series of beefy engine options that produce up to 521 lb-ft of torque. The Ram 1500 is also notable for its numerous trim levels, allowing you to keep things basic with the Tradesman or Express, or opt for higher-luxury levels — something that shouldn’t be overlooked if spending lots of time on the road.

Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 | Heavy-Duty Trucks
Need to carry even more? The Ram 2500 and 3500 are built for exactly that, as the heavy-duty siblings to the 1500. With engine options including a 6.4L HEMI V8 and a high-output 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel I-6, their 98 percent high-strength steel frames are built to take on just about anything. The Ram 3500, in particular, is a favorite of farmers who need to transport livestock, grain carts, heavy machinery, and supplies. It’s also extremely useful for construction jobs with heavy weight demands, such as moving trailers, mini-excavators, skid steers, and weighty materials. Both the 2500 and 3500 are also surprisingly adaptable, including three different cab options, two bed lengths, and, in the 3500, a dual rear wheel.

Ram Chassis Cab
The possibilities are nearly limitless with a Ram Chassis Cab, which is exactly what the name implies: a Ram 3500, 4500, or 5500 cab with the flexibility to upfit whatever the work demands behind it. Commonly, this can include a box truck setup, a flatbed hauler, or a service body optimized for storage, though applications can be as varied as tow trucks, dump trucks, salt trucks, and fire and rescue vehicles. The Ram 5500 chassis, the strongest of the three, can dominate any of those tasks with a maximum payload of 12,260 pounds and the ability to tow up to an incredible 34,540 pounds — though it also has an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, the largest in its class.

Ram ProMaster
One thing that no pickup truck, regardless of its size or strength, can offer is the ability to serve as a mobile workstation, with a highly-organized collection of parts, tools, and equipment. That’s why the Ram ProMaster has become a favorite of trade professionals like electricians, plumbers, and HVAC contractors, delivery services, and a diverse group of mobile businesses, including pet groomers, food trucks, and coffee shops. Essentially, the back of the ProMaster is a giant enclosed box that can be upfit for just about any type of work, and it offers both protection for its payload and (particularly with its elevated roof heights) the ability to stand up inside while working.

Ram ProMaster Commercial Vans
One thing to understand about the Ram ProMaster is that it’s far from a monolith, as it comes in numerous sizes and layouts designed to suit every type of business. Like the Ram trucks, the ProMaster has different models — the 1500, 2500, and 3500 — that differ primarily in terms of payload capacity, and the 3500 carries the highest gross vehicle weight rating, 9,350 pounds. There are also four available wheelbase lengths, including an urban-optimized 118 inches, a versatile 136 inches, and a maxed-out 159 inches that can also include an extended-body variant, and three different roof heights, including low, high, and super high. All told, the largest possible ProMaster (a 3500 with a 159-inch extended wheelbase and a super high roof) offers up to an incredible 524 cubic feet of cargo space.

Commercial Upfit Solutions
If your Ram of choice is a ProMaster or a Chassis Cab, chances are pretty good that you’ll need something added to the back. Professional upfitters are available and ready to do just that.
Preferred CDJR uses what’s called a bailment pool to expedite the upfitting process. Essentially, that means that much of our inventory is maintained not on our lot, but already resides with approved upfit partners. There are several benefits to you as a result:
- Faster turnaround compared to ordering directly from the factory
- Simplified logistics, as the vehicle doesn’t have to be moved around as much
- Streamlined pricing thanks to the bailment process reducing costs
- Trustworthy builds from partners who have seen and done it all
Truly, all that’s needed is for you to let us know what you need out of your upfitted Ram Chassis Cab or ProMaster van.
